Overuse of Antibiotics. Antibiotics Aren’t Always the Answer.

In the last decade, the overuse of antibiotics for almost every small medical issue has started to weaken their power and their functionality. This is caused by the development of bacterial resistance to the antibiotics. With time, the resistance grows stronger and the number of usable antibiotics starts to decrease.

In the last 25 years there hasn’t been a discovery of a new antibiotic, so If we want antibiotics to continue being efficient, then we must deal with them rationally and carefully. Antibiotic resistance is a problem that affects us all – The creators of the policy, developers, doctors, and consumers.
The awareness of the effect of the inadequate and irrational usage of antibiotics in a global scale is very high. But, in some countries where the use of antibiotics is not regulated and they are sold without a prescription the awareness is still low.

From here comes the need to raise awareness about this problem especially in the youth population to keep the antibiotic effectiveness from decreasing.
