Why You Should Try and How to Prepare for a Brazilian depilation

Brazilian waxing

Brazilian depilation means complete removal of the hairs in the intimate area. Some girls often leave a thin vertical hair bar above the clitoris, which is called a “landing strip”. This type of depilation, for the first time, stepped over the boundaries of Brazil thanks to the seven sisters, who opened their own salon by the name “J Sisters International” in Manhattan in 1987. Since then, the popularity of Brazilian waxing is accelerating.

Why should you try Brazilian depilation?

Bikini zone waxing is one the most hated ritual among women. Still, women adore it because they feel more attractive, sexy and cleaner and most men love the smooth look of the female body.
  • Fashion

Women are under a lot of pressure to do a Brazilian wax because of friends, boyfriend, TV or internet. Maybe in the past depilation wasn’t necessary but today it’s inappropriate for your pubic area not to be smooth.
  • Hygiene before everything else

Brazilian depilation gives a sense of freshness, purity, sensuality and even more confidence. The most important thing with waxing is the concern about hygiene. Make sure that the cosmetician always takes a new tool for applying wax, has protective gloves and that you’re lying on a clean new quilt that was placed when you arrived. The strip of wax removal may be used only once.

Useful advice about Brazilian depilation

  • Before waxing

Exfoliate your skin. Before intimate waxing, it’s useful to make skin exfoliation to remove dead cells of the skin. Also, it’s a good idea to repeat this procedure for two days after waxing. This will reduce the risk of occurrence of subcutaneous hair.
  • During waxing

It’s good to prepare yourself for some discomfort. Some people tolerate pain better than others but the pain in the lower abdomen can be quite hard to endure. However, if you know where to expect it, it will be easier to prepare yourself.
Imitate coughing. This is a very weird advice but it works! Start coughing when you’re dragging the strip, so you will take your attention away from the pain.
Don’t wax over wounds, fresh scars or moles in no way.
  • After waxing:

You shouldn’t wear tight clothes after waxing because it will increase the irritation of the skin.
Don’t go swimming in a pool, lake or sea for 24 hours.
Don’t use sauna or solarium in the next two days after the Brazilian depilation.

Brazilian depilation at home

If you decide to give Brazilian depilation a try, you have two options: to do it yourself at home or go to a professional. If you decide to do it at home, here are some tips how to do it easier and less painful:
  • It’s very important for the skin to be clean and dry, so don’t put oil, lotion or any cosmetic products on your pubic zone before depilation.
  • Hairs shouldn’t be too long or too short. The recommended length is 7-13 mm. If they’re longer, use scissors to obtain the desired length.
  • Try to wax small part first, to check the sensitivity of the skin and to avoid unwanted allergic reactions.
  • Place a mirror between your legs to have visibility in the inaccessible areas. It’s best to start up front and move backward.
  • Apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of hair growth. If you apply a thick layer of wax, the pain will be greater and hairs will be harder to remove.
  • The waxing strips should be small. The smaller the strips, the lesser the pain.
  • Tighten the skin around the adhesive strip and pull in the opposite direction from the hair growth.
  • Keep a wet towel near you to clean the remaining wax, if the wax is soluble in water. If not, then take a cotton ball and baby oil, so you can remove the wax that remained.
